The Project

NuVista Federal Credit Union started as Montrose Federal Credit Union in 1964, built on three values: honesty, integrity, and self-worth. When they expanded beyond Montrose to serve five counties across Colorado's Western Slope, they became NuVista on January 1, 2008. Today they serve 7,000+ members with $161 million in assets, hold a Bauer Financial 5-Star rating, and carry CDFI certification from the U.S. Treasury — having deployed over $6.8 million in federal grants for workforce housing, small business relief, and financial education across rural Western Colorado.

None of that story was visible on their old website. NuVista's previous site ran on Jack Henry Banking's limited CMS — ancient content, restricted staff access, and members had to leave the site for financial wellness resources, education, and even basic applications. The CDFI certification and millions in community investment were invisible. Products were listed but never sold. The site described a credit union; it didn't convert anyone into joining one.

Avtec rebuilt everything around one goal: conversion. We wrote every word through Content Creation — not just to describe products but to move members from interest to application. We built every form with AppSecure — loan applications, account opening, contact forms, donation requests, and internal staff tools — designed to complete, not abandon, and trained NuVista's team to manage them. We integrated MoneyEdu's financial education directly via API so members stay on-site and move naturally from learning to acting. The Financial Goals Tool matches members to the right product. Member Reviews build social proof at the point of decision. Financial Calculators answer the math question that sits between "maybe" and "apply." The CDFI community impact showcase builds the trust that makes a prospect choose NuVista over a bank. The entire site runs on Avtec CMS with full SEO & AI Search optimization — structured for both search engines and AI answer engines.
