The Project
One Credit Union was founded in 1968 by Fairchild Semiconductor employees in Springfield, Vermont — neighbors pooling resources to help each other build financial stability. Nearly six decades later, "Together, we're One" isn't a tagline; it's how the credit union still operates. Today One CU serves roughly 11,000 members with $140 million in assets across four branches in Springfield, Brattleboro, West Lebanon, and White River Junction, covering southeast Vermont and the upper Connecticut River Valley.
The previous website didn't reflect that level of service. Members couldn't open accounts online, couldn't schedule appointments, and couldn't access financial wellness resources without leaving the site. The content was static, the tools were absent, and the community identity that makes One CU different from a regional bank was invisible. Staff couldn't update rates or promotions without a lengthy turnaround. For a credit union built on personal relationships, the digital experience felt impersonal.
Avtec rebuilt the website around the question every small community credit union faces: how do you deliver branch-level care on a screen? We built the platform on Avtec CMS so staff manage rates, promotions, and page content independently. We integrated Lucro for digital account opening — members join or open new accounts from any device. AppSecure handles every secure form, from loan applications to contact requests. Calendly lets members book appointments at any branch. Enrich financial wellness content lives on-site so members learn and act in the same session. A Chatbase AI chatbot answers questions 24/7.
